Sky Atlantic Fortitude broadcast series launch

Sky Atlantic released new research into public perceptions and the nature of fear. The study looked into why we invite fear into our lives via framed experiences; like watching horror films, TV shows and taking part in scary experiences, by comparing them to the psychology of genuine fear. The research came ahead of the release of the second series of Fortitude, the danger-filled arctic horror thriller set in the stunning arctic wilderness starring Dennis Quad, Richard Dormer, Sofie Gråbøl and Michelle Fairley.

We had Richard Wiseman, Professor of the Public Understanding of Psychology, in the studio for a day of broadcast media interviews to discuss the findings and elaborate on the reasons why we enjoy framed fear. Richard featured on 2 national radio stations, including Virgin Radio, as well as 10 BBC regionals for the campaign and in total reached over 8 million weekly listeners across the country.
